OHmy. Fall has hit. Apple picking, pumpkins everywhere, the leaves are turning and falling. It is Autumn.
Annnnd that means it’s almost Thanksgiving! YESYESYES! I love just Thanksgiving, the fellowship, family, and food. There is nothing quite like a warm house, football or a parade in the background, and all sorts of yummy smells coming from the kitchen. At my house, a family gathering inevitably means hot drinks of some sort – hot chocolate, tea, coffee, something. In the past few years we have discovered Mulled Apple Cider, and goodness is this stuff good. It’s ridiculous how simple this drink is! The simplicity makes it that much better for the holiday season because it takes 5 minutes to prepare and then a few hours in a slow cooker or on the stovetop to be ready to serve!
This is without a doubt, a must-have addition to your Thanksgiving Day celebration!
Mulled Apple Cider
- 2 quarts Apple Cider
- 2 ounces Mulling Spices
- Fruit slices or extra spice as desired – oranges, apples, cinnamon sticks
Pour the apple cider into the slow cooker or pan.
Measure out the mulling spices into a disposable tea bag or spice bag.
Drop the mulling spices into the cider.
Turn the cooker on to low. Put the lid on the cooker. Walk away.
Really. That’s it. SO GOOD.
Enjoy the beginning of the holiday season! We’ll will be making this all season long for sure!
